Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Interpretwise when you create an account and run events on the platform. Each section starts with a plain-language summary.

Effective: July 19, 2026
Governed by Lithuanian law

01The Agreement

In short: Creating an account means you accept these terms on behalf of your company.

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Interpretwise platform, websites, dashboard, and related services (the “Services”), operated by Interpretwise, MB, company code 307241156, Girulių g. 10, LT-12112 Vilnius, Lithuania. By registering an account or using the Services, you enter into a binding agreement with us. If you register on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind it, and “you” means that organization.

The Services are intended for business use. Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement.

02Accounts & Registration

In short: Sign up yourself, no sales call needed. Keep your details accurate and your password to yourself.

Registration is self-service: your account and company workspace are provisioned immediately, with no sales contact or contract negotiation required. You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account, including users you invite to your organization. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

You must be at least 18 years old and acting in the course of business to open an account. One company may hold only one account unless we agree otherwise.

03The Services

Interpretwise provides AI-powered simultaneous interpretation for live events: real-time translation of floor audio into 40+ languages, delivered to attendees’ own devices via a QR code, with optional live subtitles. You create and manage events from your dashboard; attendees join without accounts. We continuously improve the Services and may add, change, or retire features - if a change materially reduces the Services you have paid credits for, Refunds & Credit Expiry applies.

04Credits, Top-Ups & Payments

In short: You prepay credits into a wallet, usage is billed per started minute, and events stop if the wallet runs dry - top up before going live.
  • Prepaid wallet - the Services run on euro-denominated credits held in your company wallet. Credits are purchased via top-ups processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
  • Usage-based billing - interpretation, subtitles, and related services are charged per started minute at the rates shown in your dashboard at the time your broadcast starts. Running events keep the rates they started with.
  • Reservations - when an event is live, we reserve credits against your balance to cover ongoing usage; reservations are settled when the event ends.
  • Insufficient balance - if your available credits run out during an event, the broadcast stops. Keep enough balance for the full expected duration - we show a live estimate in the dashboard.
  • Invoices & VAT - we issue an invoice for every top-up, available in your dashboard. Prices exclude VAT where applicable; VAT is applied according to your billing country and status.

05Welcome Credit

In short: New companies start free with a one-time promotional credit. It expires after 3 months and can’t be cashed out.

Newly registered companies may receive a one-time promotional welcome credit in their wallet. The welcome credit: (a) is granted once per company; (b) expires 3 months after it is granted, and any unused portion is removed; (c) has no cash value, is non-transferable, and is never refunded or paid out; (d) is consumed before purchased credits. Creating multiple accounts to obtain the credit repeatedly is prohibited, and we may revoke credits and suspend accounts involved in such abuse. We may change or discontinue the welcome credit program for new registrations at any time.

06Pricing & Rate Changes

Current per-minute rates are always visible in your dashboard before you start a broadcast. We may change rates prospectively; changes never apply to events already running. If we materially increase rates, we will notify account holders by email at least 14 days in advance. Individually agreed rate overrides take precedence over the platform rate card for as long as they are in effect.

07Refunds & Credit Expiry

In short: Unused purchased credits are refundable on request; used minutes and promotional credits are not.

Purchased credits do not expire while your account is active. If you close your account, we refund the unused purchased balance to your original payment method within 30 days, minus any payment-processing fees we cannot recover. Credits already consumed by usage are not refundable, and promotional credits (including the welcome credit) are never refundable or payable out. If a service failure on our side interrupts your event, contact us within 14 days - we will re-credit the affected usage.

08Acceptable Use & Your Content

In short: Your event content stays yours. You’re responsible for having the right to broadcast it.

You retain all rights to the audio and content you broadcast through the Services (“Customer Content”). You grant us a limited license to process Customer Content solely to provide the Services - real-time transcription, translation, and speech synthesis. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and consents to broadcast your event, including informing speakers and attendees where required by law.

You must not use the Services to transmit unlawful content, infringe third-party rights, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the platform, resell the Services without our written agreement, or circumvent usage metering or promotional limits.

09AI Interpretation Disclaimer

In short: AI interpretation is very good but not perfect. Don’t rely on it alone where a mistranslation could cause serious harm.

Interpretation and subtitles are generated automatically by AI in real time. While we work to maximize accuracy, machine interpretation may contain errors, omissions, or mistranslations, and accuracy varies with audio quality, terminology, and language pair. The output is provided “as is” for live communication support. For contexts where interpretation errors could have legal, medical, or safety consequences, you must arrange appropriate human verification. We are not liable for decisions made in reliance on AI-generated output.

10Availability & Support

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service; the Services depend on your venue’s internet connection and attendees’ devices, which are outside our control. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where it may affect live events. Support is available at info@interpretwise.com. Where a failure of our platform interrupts a live event, your remedy is the usage re-credit described in Refunds & Credit Expiry.

11Intellectual Property

The Interpretwise platform, software, models, branding, and documentation are and remain our property (or that of our licensors). We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services for your own events during the term of this agreement. No rights are granted beyond what these Terms state.

12Termination

In short: Leave anytime from the dashboard - unused purchased credits come back to you.

You may close your account at any time from the dashboard; closure takes effect once running events end, and refunds of purchased credits follow Refunds & Credit Expiry. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms - including non-payment, credit abuse, or unlawful use - with notice where practicable. After closure, we delete or anonymize your data per our Privacy Policy, retaining only what accounting law requires.

13Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Services is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profit, or loss of data, nor for failures caused by your equipment, venue connectivity, or third-party services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for willful misconduct or gross negligence.

14Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Vilnius, Lithuania. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country remain unaffected where they apply.

15Changes & Contact

We may update these Terms as the Services evolve. Material changes are announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. The date at the top reflects the current version.
